Origin and foundations of numerology
Since the dawn of time, faced with a growing population, humankind has needed reassurance through classification. So we invented numbers!
In Latin, “numerus” means “to share”. Numbers are used to organise, count, measure, and divide space, time and so on into parts, to better find one's bearings and identify oneself.
For more than two thousand years, many scientist-philosophers have sought to understand the world through mathematics. Some of them, such as Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato, took an interest in their symbolic dimension.
Later, the kabbalists developed gematria, which consists of adding up the numerical value of a word to interpret its meaning.
Numerology uses the elements of our identity (date of birth, all our first names and surname). Through the symbolic dimension of numbers, gematria, arithmetic and statistics, it extracts keys to understanding our personality and orientations.
The evolution of numerology
At the beginning of the 20th century, three American women contributed to the emergence of modern numerology: L. Dow Balliet, Florence Campbell and Dr Juno Jordan. In 1965, the latter created a numerology research institute and, over twenty-five years of statistical work, improved the numerology tool. It was then used as a tool for self-knowledge and decision-making.
The Secret Science of Numerology, published in 1975 by the American pastor Kevin Quinn Avery, made numerology known worldwide.
Birth of Strategic Numerology®
After many years of study and research in numerology, from 2010 onwards Lydie Castells structured and simplified this tool, created new concepts and innovated by proposing Strategic Numerology®.
She positions numerology as a reliable tool for self-knowledge and decision-making, accessible to all. She definitively removes it from the divinatory arts: each individual keeps their free will.

Birth of ICERNS®, the School of Strategic Numerology® (EDNS) and Les Nouveaux Sapiens
The books, conferences, her teaching and certain podcasts (including the famous Métamorphose No. 164 by Anne Ghesquière!) aroused such enthusiasm and such demand for training and consultations that in 2021 Lydie Castells decided to make her dream come true: making this tool accessible to as many people as possible by creating a School of Strategic Numerology® within an Institute of Consulting, Teaching and Research in Strategic Numerology®.
ICERNS® was born!
The Institute's goals are:
– To offer Strategic Numerology® consultations, to identify your potential in order to activate it,
– To become a “Potential Activator through Strategic Numerology®” by training with our QUALIOPI-certified School,
– To develop research in Strategic Numerology® to foster inclusion.
ICERNS thus enables Strategic Numerology® to adopt a unique, Cartesian and serious approach.
Supported by the members of the Orientation Committee, by various publishing houses, podcasters, bloggers and certain media, Lydie Castells gives numerology a unique and relevant place as a personal development tool.
ICERNS® chose to meet all of these objectives by developing the first platform dedicated to numerology in general and Strategic Numerology® in particular.
